If we don't know eachother, here's a little bit about me:

Hi!

I'm a chicago based New Media artist in the broadest imaginable sense. I graduated from the University of North Texas is 2024, and I'm currently pursuing an MFA from the School of The Art Institute of Chicago. Currently, I'm missing home greatly and working on the dumbest possible projects that I can. I perform live shows under the name "DrakeAndTheBeatles" in which I play guitar and yell spoken word poetry over drum and bass synthesizers while an animatronic chimpanzee gutterally bleats the dulcet primal tones of the synthetic jungle under my vocals. I'm not sure how to classify it genre wise, but it's... what it is! Me and the chimp also feature in an autobiographical and totally accurate webcomic which you can read right here on my website!

Also...

I make films !!! That's why I moved here, to make films!! And to write poetry and essays!!!!!! Yayy!!!!!!!!!!! The rumors are true, I'm in film school :( but keep in mind, I'm a woman!! So That's Cool!! I make a lot of different kind of things when it comes to film. I'm currently working on a horror movie that's also kind of a video essay and also kind of an exestential visual poem. It's called WHALE TEETH, and it'll probably take a lot of time and money to make, so in the mean time, I'm also making other, cheaper, quicker movies! I'm not a filmmaker in the traditional sense, in that I don't write a script, pitch that script, work with a producer, cast actors, fundraise a ton of money, spend 4 years on a 15 minute short, do the festival circuit, and resentfully upload my short to vimeo after it doesn't get picked up by A24. I'M DOWN TO DO THAT!! but haven't yet, and am not currently trying to do that to the complete shock and dismay of the SAIC film program.

Most of my work thusfar has been feature length documentations of performance. (which you can find up there in the performance tab), documentaries(y)., and a litany of short videos and Installation pieces.. I've technically made one festival feature called "Antichrist" which I made for Joel Haver's Make A Movie Durring The Oscars competition, but it's non-narrative so it's NOT FOR BOYS!!!! SORRYY!!!! But yeah, I'm a film/video girl who values concept and writing over production, and I think of quality as kind of a bonus, which seems to really frustrate people but that's how I like to work. I don't define myself as a filmmaker, because I think of myself more as an artist who occassionally makes films, in the same way that a singer might every now and then make a painting. I'm also a singer, and every now and then, I'll make a painting! MULTIMEDIAAAAAA!!!!
